Summary of qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences: Microbiology and Immunology from the
Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 2014. Master’s degree in Biophysics
(Environmental Biophysics – with maximum concept on Brazilian Higher Educational
Personnel - CAPES) from Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute (UFRJ - 2016).
Currently PhD student to conclude Doctoral degree in Biophysics in October 2020
(Biophysics Institute – UFRJ). Develops scientific research in the Laboratory of
Ecophysiology and Toxicology of Cyanobacteria (UFRJ) with emphasis on the
cyanotoxins removal from water by abiotic / biotic aspects. In addition, as part of your
PhD Project it evaluate to the biological interaction between cyanobacteria and
heterotrophic bacteria. As part of doctoral thesis spent 6 months at Robert Gordon
University, United Kingdom, under supervision of Prof Christine Edwards and Prof
Linda Lawton, which developed results about the biodegradation of cyanobacterial and
non-cyanobacterial peptides.
