Summary
Dr. Li Li received M.D. degree in 1988 from China Medical University (CMU), and obtained Ph.D. degree in 2001 from Fuwai Hospital & Cardiovascular Institute, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Peking Union Medical University (PUMU). During her Ph.D. course, Dr. Li found that obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) was one of main risk factors of secondary hypertension. Then she started to research the effect of sleep apnea on cardiovascular diseases. She was the first person to apply the auto-CPAP to the heart failure patients with central sleep apnea (CSA) in China. She also studied the role of OSA on arrhythmia including brady-arrhythmia and atrial fibrillation (AF). These interests made her gain many opportunities for further training successfully, such as in Sydney University in Australia and Texas Medical Center in USA. It is the relationship between the OSA and cardiovascular diseases that captured her research interest all the time and she published more than 20 articles on journals. Dr. Li currently is a specialist in cardiology and sleep medicine in Beijing Tong Ren Hospital and medical director in Beijing Heartonline Science and Technology Company (www.heartonline.cn). She is member of training team of National Center for Cardiovascular Disease (NCCD), Ministry of Health, China; member of fourth and fifth council of Chinese Hypertension League (CHL); member of clinical teaching group, Capital University of Medical Sciences (CUMS). She is also special reviewer for many journals including Chinese Journal of Clinicians, Chinese Journal of Multiple Organ Diseases in the Elderly, Chinese Journal of General Practitioners,and Global Journal of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases.
