Summary
Dr Tong Ming Liu obtained his PhD degree in China from the Institute of Hybrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2002. He has extensive experience of 16 years working with human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs, the most used stem cells for regenerative medicine) in the field of bone and cartilage, focusing on cell and gene therapy of human MSCs for regenerative medicine. He has been the recipient of 4 external grants including SSCS, BMRC, NMRC-OF IRG and the A-STAR CDA grant totalling over S$2.6 million. He has published 29 research papers (The majority of papers are listed as first author or corresponding author) published on Nat Cell Biol, Nat Commun, PNAS, Arthris & Rheum, Stem cells, Stem cell reports and Tissue Engineering etc. He holds 2 patents, serving as editorial board member of 24 international journals and reviewers of 16 international journals.
